The establishment of the Catholic Organisation “Indabo za Mariya Nyina wa Jambo wa Kibeho Umwamikazi w’Imitima” originated from the inspiration received by a Christian lady during the High Mass on Christmas Day, 25th December 2004, at Saint Michael Cathedral Parish in the Archdiocese of Kigali.
As she meditated on how the Word of God assumed human nature in the womb of the Virgin Mary through the mystery of the Incarnation, she felt a deep spiritual desire to always travel to meet Mother Mary, Mother of the Word at Kibeho, as a child visiting his or her mother.
Our Mother Mary came to Rwanda to remind us to renew our faith in order to become devoted Christians.
After Mass, she shared this inspiration with fellow Christians she met outside the church. Together, they decided to organize monthly pilgrimages to Kibeho every last Sunday of the month. The first pilgrimage took place on 30th January 2005.
On that first pilgrimage, the Rector of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Kibeho gave the group the name “Flowers of Mary” (Indabo za Mariya). He also encouraged the organisation to embrace Montfortian spirituality, which is deeply rooted in devotion to the Mother of the Word and total consecration to Jesus through the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The messages and lessons delivered by Our Lady of Kibeho became the spiritual foundation of the Catholic Organisation “Flowers of Mary Mother of the Word Queen of Hearts.”
Today, the organisation strives to live and spread the messages and teachings of Our Lady of Kibeho through prayer, evangelization, pilgrimages, and spiritual formation.
The Ministry pursues the following mission:
1. Evangelization
To deeply know, evangelize, and live the message delivered by the Mother of the Word at Kibeho.
2. Spiritual Consecration
To adhere to baptismal covenants through total consecration to Jesus Christ in the blessed hands of the Virgin Mary as instructed by Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort.
3. Catholic Doctrine
To know and respect the dogma of the Catholic Church.
To know, remind, and evangelize the message delivered by the Mother of the Word at Kibeho.
